Fiona Waugh has worked for over 20 years in the not-for-profit space spanning the disability, education, welfare and out-of-home care sectors. She has held management and policy development roles, with significant aspects being strategic planning, governance, partnership development, government inquiry submissions, grant writing and funding acquisition.

Fiona has also been a not-for profit Board member and sat on various government and community reference committees. She also voluntarily sits as a lived experience member on several Alfred Health and Monash University epilepsy-related research reference committees.

Fiona lives with uncontrolled epilepsy and has undergone several brain surgeries in an attempt to control seizure activity. Fiona was also the carer of her uncle who lived with schizophrenia.

Fiona is passionate about improving the lives of marginalised and vulnerable members of our society so they gain access to the equal opportunities, agency, dignity, respect, and quality of life that many people take for granted. And it is these hopes, coupled with her personal lived experiences, which create a strong alignment with the Chris Jagger Foundation and its mission to unlock the brain’s potential and improve outcomes for the millions of people living with neurological and mental health challenges.
