Bruce enjoyed two careers, first as an engineer for 15 years, then as a financial adviser for 30 years. Since retiring in 2018, Bruce has continued to leverage his knowledge and experience and work as a volunteer with several charities.

They include Proveda, where he helped people navigate the complex legislative challenges of transition from home care to residential aged care.

In 2021, he helped establish Ripple Learning Ltd, a social enterprise that offers high-quality workplace training and distributes all its profits to youth mental health.

In 2024, Bruce helped establish the Consortium for Research in Eating Disorders Limited, a NFP that promotes the prevention and treatment of eating disorders and related issues by providing educational and networking opportunities. He remains a director of both these NFPs.

Bruce has also been an active Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove for over 20 years.

Bruce is keen to share the insights and lessons he has learned over his career to help others, especially with financial matters.
