
Clive Hines is a seasoned music industry professional with a career spanning over four decades, marked by high-level collaborations with globally renowned artists and a deep understanding of the commercial dynamics of music and media.
Entering the industry at a young age, Clive quickly established himself, working with legendary acts such as The Commodores, Duran Duran, Electric Light Orchestra, Status Quo, Mike Oldfield, and Santana—a group with several million certified album sales in the US and an estimated 100 million worldwide.
In the mid-1980s, Clive was brought in by Columbia Records to support the launch of Terence Trent D’Arby’s debut album, Introducing The Hardline According to Terence Trent D’Arby. He led strategic radio and press campaigns, contributing to the album’s milestone of one million copies sold within the first three days of release and a nine-week run at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. The album went on to achieve 5× Platinum status globally. Clive also coordinated and promoted D’Arby’s first headline concert, paving the way for his support tour with David Bowie across Europe.
Clive’s contributions to artist development and music promotion were formally recognized in 1985 when he received the Signal Radio Music Industry Award, honouring his role in the success of acts such as Curtis Mayfield, The Communards, and Bobby Womack.
